Prof. Sam H.-Y. HSU is an Associate Professor in the School of Energy and Environment, City University of Hong Kong. He obtained his PhD degree under supervision of Prof. Kirk S. SCHANZE at University of Florida with focusing on photophysical behaviors of functional metallopolymer materials for solar energy and optoelectronic applications. After that, he received the two-year postdoctoral and research associate’s appointments respectively with Prof. Allen J. BARD and Prof. Edward T. YU in Center for Electrochemistry as well as Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Texas at Austin. During the period of his postdoc and research associate, he completed many outstanding multidisciplinary projects. The area of his expertise stretches from material design to new related disciplines involving material characterization, molecular photophysics, operando spectroscopy, and diverse applications, such as solar fuels, organic and inorganic photovoltaic cells, wastewater treatment and food waste management.

主要研究領(lǐng)域

Prof. Sam HSU致力于太陽(yáng)能燃料、電致化學(xué)發(fā)光以及太陽(yáng)能電池等能源領(lǐng)域的探索，研究方向包括：太陽(yáng)能電池，發(fā)光二極管，太陽(yáng)能燃料，廢水處理，餐余廢物處理，光催化，光電催化，光物理以及光化學(xué)，電化學(xué)以及光電化學(xué)，半導(dǎo)體材料的設(shè)計(jì)、合成、表征以及應(yīng)用。Prof. Sam HSU曾在Nature、Nature Materials、Nature Synthesis、Nature Communications、Advanced Materials, Journal of the American Chemical Society、Advanced Functional Materials, Advanced Energy Materials、Chem等高水平期刊上發(fā)表過(guò)多篇文章。

Prof. Sam HSU’s research interests involve material design, synthesis, processing, imaging, spectroscopy as well as energy and environmental applications, aiming to explore fundamental properties and dynamic interactions of organic and inorganic materials for developing efficient energy-conversion and energy-saving processes. He has keen interests in photo-induced charge transfer processes, interfacial electron transfer, electrochemical hydrogen generation, and photoredox reactions for electricity generation, solar fuel production, electrochemiluminescence (ECL), wastewater treatment as well as food waste management. The investigations between material phenomena and device performance rely heavily on experimental and theoretical concepts of energy and environmental engineering, consisting of photophysics, electrochemistry, photoelectrochemistry, operando spectroscopy by utilizing scanning photoelectrochemical microscopy (SECM) imaging, ultrafast transient absorption (TA), time-resolved photoluminescence spectra (TRPL), in-situ Raman spectroscopy, X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) and so forth.

科研助理（RA）

一、崗位待遇

1、本實(shí)驗(yàn)室將為研究助理提供最具競(jìng)爭(zhēng)力的薪資待遇；

2、表現(xiàn)優(yōu)秀的科研助理有機(jī)會(huì)到香港城市大學(xué)攻讀博士學(xué)位。

二、工作地點(diǎn)

研究助理將在Prof. Sam的指導(dǎo)下，選擇在香港城市大學(xué)或者在深圳的合作課題組進(jìn)行研究工作。工作期間，需要到香港與老師交流的相關(guān)費(fèi)用，會(huì)由老師方面負(fù)責(zé)。

三、招聘條件

1、具有有機(jī)或無(wú)機(jī)化學(xué)合成經(jīng)驗(yàn)者優(yōu)先；

2、能夠獨(dú)立設(shè)計(jì)與執(zhí)行相關(guān)實(shí)驗(yàn)；

3、獲得與材料、化學(xué)、電化學(xué)、光電化學(xué)、催化、太陽(yáng)能電池、發(fā)光二極管等相關(guān)碩士或博士學(xué)位；

4、有SCI論文發(fā)表者優(yōu)先考慮；

5、工作勤奮踏實(shí)，動(dòng)手能力強(qiáng)，對(duì)研究工作富有熱情。

2027年春/秋季入學(xué)

博士研究生（PhD）

一、獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金待遇：

香港城市大學(xué)2026年博士研究生獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金為每月19,100 HKD（通過(guò)博士資格考前）和19,600 HKD（通過(guò)博士資格考后），根據(jù)經(jīng)驗(yàn)，每年都會(huì)有提高。每月除去自付約3,708 HKD學(xué)費(fèi)，宿舍費(fèi)約4,000 HKD，還有相當(dāng)可觀的剩余。同時(shí)優(yōu)秀的申請(qǐng)人還可以申請(qǐng)香港政府博士獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金計(jì)劃（Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme），成功者可以獲得每月28,400 HKD以及免除學(xué)費(fèi)的待遇，年度額外差旅補(bǔ)貼14,200港幣用于國(guó)際會(huì)議、學(xué)術(shù)交流。

二、申請(qǐng)條件：

1、GPA成績(jī)?cè)?.5以上；

2、雅思6.5分以上或托福79分以上；

3、材料科學(xué)，化學(xué)，物理，環(huán)境等相關(guān)專業(yè)

4、有sci論文發(fā)表者優(yōu)先考慮；

5、工作勤奮踏實(shí)，動(dòng)手能力強(qiáng)，對(duì)研究工作富有熱情。
